Thaipusam

Thaipusam is a Hindu thanksgiving celebration held in honour of Lord Subrahmanya (Lord Murugan), a son of Shiva. It occurs on the full moon day during the month of Thai, either January or February. These photos document the festival that was held in Singapore on 19 Jan 2011, starting at the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple and ending at Layan Sithi Vinayagar Temple, a four kilometer procession.
